ATTN: ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 owners!

Thread Starter
Yes, my AV8 died after a major power surge...I had 67,000+ on that board, with my CPU and GPU oc'd.

I got a Gigabyte K8NSC-939 with the buggy nForce3/6800 bug, and so I got only 58,000+

Now I have this crappy Gigabyte K8U-939 Uli board that is very unstable and can barely get 52,000...

Now, I am looking at the AsRock 939Dual-Sata board, since it gets major cult support and all...

However, due to my readings and whatnot, I am greatly worried about two things:

1.) Uli chipset will hinder my GPU greatly, because I have to install a GART and whatnot for it to fully work.

2.) I will not be able to oc on my GPU at all; only my CPU on the AsRock board.

Can anybody with the board tell me how this board is? I'm afraid to go into ULi territory after being with this Gigbyte board, even though I know it's a lower model ULi chipset and it's a budget board...

Gah, even as I type, my computer mouse cursor STUTTERS...so annoying...

thanx for ur answers.

I would never buy asrock, I own one now.... and how I hate it! It should burn in the fathoms! Main reasons: Rubbish drivers, Rubbish tech support, Rubbish overclocking capabilities, having all 4 DIMM slots full on my board causes the FSB to run at 166, when it should be 200.... Lots of things like that...

And that is why I decided to get a DFI nForce 3 Lanparty UT Ultra-D, the best AGP board out for overclocking!

It does seem like a nice setup, AGP/PCI-e, but not if you want to overclock. If you are a budget user and not really concerned with pushing performance, than I guess it's not a horrible choice....I just see so many threads on the board, and its nothing special.
People shouldn't buy something just because everyone else is doing it....now the opterons are a different story

lol we'll see what happens...I'm getting the board around Wednesday.

btw, now that Newegg switched to FedEx, does it come 'a day early' like I heard so many Newegg users say in the past with FedEx?

I ordered almost at midnight on Sunday, got a confirmation email before 8 in the next morning, and it was already at Step 4 pretty much.
