Question about power for AMP

Hey guy's I thought this would be the place to post this. What do car amps run on AC or DC? Is it possible to run a car amp on a computer PSU? I heard this idea once and I was wondering if it is possible?

I think it's DC unless you have a A/C Generator in your car....

haha well the thing is I don't have a car because I'm only 15.

Do they run on a certain amount of amps or what?

It all depends on the size of your amp. If you have a 1000W amp and only a 400W PSU, forget it. You would need the PSU to be the same power as the amp.
As for the practicality of it, i wouldn't try unless your a fully qualified sparky.

You would be better off getting a power converter to hook up to the amp and just plug it in to the wall.

And you would need to find a way to switch it on, and no other audio component uses a remote wire
