Planning on getting 360

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I have been planning on getting a Xbox 360 (whenever they come back in stock ). I have looked into using my computer's 17" LCD monitor on the account of me not being able to afford a decent HDTV. I was wondering how might I be able to get both my 360 and my computer connected to some sort of "hub" or something. I was also wondering how I could get sound connected, I have an Altec Lansing speaker setup for my computer.

For the video, you will need to find a converter to take the component video connectors of the X360 and give you a DVI output that can be plugged into your monitor.

I don't know about the audio. If the X360's audio is the same as the XBox's digital pack, the audio is going to be output via an optical audio cable. If your speakers have that input, you're in good shape. If not, the optical would probably have to plug into a 5.1 receiver, and you would have to plug your speakers into that if possible. Depends on what kind of speakers you have, i.e. are they speakers with "real" copper connector wires, or do they all have mini-RCA jacks, etc.

Well I found this, it sends out the singnal to a vga.

I have mini rca plugs from my computer speakers. Do you think they make a kvm switch or something that might have vga and be able to switch the audio signal also?
