After, 20 minutes of crysis 2 , my video card wasn't very stable, neither at 800/1000:mad:....Why? Any idea?

If you're using ATI Tray Tools make sure voltage is set to 1.1... CCC and Afterburner will auto-set voltages. Not sure about others.

Also try another game - could just by Crysis 2 bugging out.

Otherwise get some isophryl alcohol and clean off the pencil and try again.

@Slevin_Kelevra - DirectX 11 is much better - and somewhat faster smile.gif I don't really think anything is "bottlenecking" your card but more RAM couldn't hurt. Obviously make sure it runs in dual channel. Your clocks are pretty good on your card, I've got a heavy gaming session coming up this weekend and going to see if I can get away with 1220-1240 memory and maybe just a tiny bit more core tongue.gif

I theorise that the card is now drawing much more power than before - meaning that the board can't get enough power to OC and run the card. Gonna maybe try my card in someones board whom has an 8-pin EPS CPU power connector (compared to my 4) and see if that makes a difference. Then I guess I have to upgrade XD

Absolutely. I have to stay @ stock proc now or i get constant restarts. i'm still on 530w.

Considering i'm getting roughly 5830 performance, i'm not sure buying a whole new psu is worth it for a bit more stability and a few extra fps. That said.... being able to go back to 4ghz AND have a bit higher oc on my 5670's might actually be a game changer. Wish i could borrow a stores 800w for a few hours to find out xD

are you running any overclock at all on proc with your modded gcard? dropping volts on my proc a little gave me a bit more headroom on my gpu oc, even managed to get some better benches out.

I wouldn't say 5830 performance, remember we've got half the shaders of a 5770 so we're not even managing a single 5770s performance tongue.gif

I'm running at 3.3 (160 BCLK for 1600MHz RAMs) with Turboboost, Speedstep, C-State Tech and CIE and Enchanced C States. So it scales and turns off cores etc. so I get anywhere from 3.3 - 4. And voltage scales from 0.9v to 1.35v (1.28 is stock). It's a 95W TDP proc.

4ghz @ 1.5v on my 1090t costs me ~200w (safe).

stock @ 1.35v without turbo enabled is 130ish max.

each 5670 should max out around 80w at stock, so say OC'ing might take it to 100w. I actually imagine our volt modded cards go even higher than this, but each PCIe 2 slot can only provide 150w maximum.

add your other components (hdd 25w, disk drives 20w, memory 5w per stick, usb's plugged in 5w, led fans 2-3w) and give yourself a 50w window for safety ontop. then reduce the stated amount on your PSU by 10%.

Lastly, double check that your GPU connectors, MOBO power, and CPU power are not overloaded. They all run off the same line, and on my 530w that line is max @ 420w.

i'm running crossfire. so i have all the shaders of a 5770! =P

seriously though, stats are only half the story. i'm benching above some 5830 builds. that could be to do with alot of things, but a score is a score.

PCIe slots are 120W maximum - but that's the guideline, there isn't any mechanism limit them - you just blow the slot if you go too high, but a high-quality board should handle it.

Ah crossfired 5670s should better a 5770. Maybe even close to a 5830. Wanna crossfire next smile.gif

Don't forget it might be drawing a good percentage of that in 12V and your PSU can only handle so many watts on the 12V rail.

yeah i think i'm at the hard end of the 12v rail. if i leave it on all night theres a good chance it will be at desktop when i wake up.

http://www.playtool.com/pages/artifacts/artifacts.html - pretty useful site!

considering the value on this card i can't believe more people don't crossfire it. it's less than half the price of a 5770 here (which is still in demand, where as stores can't seem to shift 5670's)
