yeah im glad more and more people are OC this card! still dont have a prob! and hey junho i idol at about 38 c and in game my card doesnt go above 65 and thats only playing the witcher 2 for about 7 hours, every game i got plays on medium to high settings! with a 35 to 40 fps never lower than 30 and some games like medal of honor 2010 can be played with high settings on max! and just a little hint guys who cant play games like fallout assasins creed brotherhood and games with open worlds! try running CCC or tray tools 3d settings on high to max with no AA and you can runn it alot better than the game it self can! i never play anything with application crontroled graphics! makes it lagg to much to enjoy fully! i was able to clock my cores to 1040/1200 and i get about a 1 1/2 fps increese with black ops! but i never use anything lower than 100 % fan and i have a extra fan blowing in cool air from my AC from my house which is when its on i idol at about 27c and in game about 50-55c with 100 % fan. again other people have differenet probs and have to deal with more intense temps due to there case and lack of air flow but in my advice to anything is to not try and bench your scores because i found out mose of my games cant play with the same overclocks! if i try then they crash so i try to test my clocks with game play and let them be tested through CMD for about an hour with the clocks i chose for it! it might not be a smart way to test but 3d mark hates my cpu and when it tests my cpu it takes over an hour sooooo **** THAT ohhh and courage i my mobo can only run dual chanle mem, but it still says that its running at 444mhz and not 800 and 1066 sooo im still confused with that part, and im sure if i knew how to overclock my ram with my specific mobo then my games with runn alot better! even the only game i cant play right now is BRINK and the BF3 beta 2 of my fav games please i know overclocking my ram will help sooo HELP ME PLEASEE

@krabs: Great research, actually very interesting, come to think of it actually makes sense that the card temperature wouldn't peak as high as the GPU core. But also I'm thinking its not actually the graphics card core temperature, like CPU (not CPU core) temp its actually a sensor located very near the core. And that its been designed and balanced so the components don't get much hotter than each other. Actually wanna get one of those tools, but definitely will be taking a multimeter to my card, go this feeling I'm getting some incredible voltage

@Slevin_Kelevra: Hmmm... Your RAMs again - okay do you have CPU-Z, now check the Memory tab > DRAM Frequency. DDR2-800 should report 400Mhz on stock (well actually what RAM do you have?). My DDR3-1600 reports 800Mhz. But remember, CAS Latency on yours should be a bout 4 or 5 while mine is 7, making performance somewhat similar, mine only being slightly better.

Am finding this card needs 100% fan at full overclock just to keep those caps cool though, I know they can probably handle it *touches wood* but I get paranoid sometimes

my psu is struggling so hard recently.

i really think i've just gotta bite the bullet and buy a new one before it costs me more than just the occasional random shutdown.

out of curiousity, has anyone else experienced a crash when checking GPU-Z right after a vpu recovery? it happens everytime i go to check temps after i've overdone my clocks. can't explain why.

Never actually had a VPU recovery, usually it bombs out totally, locks up and I have to restart. Sometimes I get a fright because the computer won't POST after the restart, but it usually corrects itself.

What sorta bench scores do you get a 1100, because while I can set the core to 1100 and the memory beyond 1230, my benchmarking scores drop quite considerably. Also with higher than 1240 memory I encounter stuttering. Just try comparing your scores at 1100+ to scores at 1000-1060.

Also what brand, memory and GDDR3/5?

Sorry I must of not remembered quite correctly, I was the one to find the ASUS pencil mod. Here is my best xfire result:

http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2191471

and single result:

http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2190383

1035/1185 in crossfire and 1060/1200 for single card.

Those are ye-olde drivers of course, it's been a long time lol.

My best result @ 1060/1240:
http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3379697

But doesn't always behave under some older games like Counterstrike and Battlefield 2 so I rather use 1060/1230 which is minimal performance drop.

Interested in getting a second card for crossfire since a second-hand 5670 is about R400 and gives close to 5770 performance if not more. Second-hand 5770 is R900-R1000 - so saving a hundred bucks but don't have the hassle of trying to sell the 5670.

OC'd xfire 5670 DEFINATELY gives better performance than stock 5770 on the same system.

each card has a whole 5770's retinue of support components. plus splitting the core allows for better dedicated cooling etc. for instance, if you were to tally the combined surface area of cooling fins, and the volume of air passed over the gpu in total, the 2 cards would beat out a single 5770.

ofcourse having 2 cores also has its disadvantages, but these are the same old 1vs2gpu arguements.

personally i think OCing a 5770 would give better real life performance, but for benches i really have to go with 2 5670's because they overclock much better.

Must say showing off the numbers and comparing them to stock makes it look like a very impressive card. Not many cards can reach over 1000 core, and a little "budget" card does it

Now if only they took this core, amped up the power delivery and added more shaders but that'd make it a different card
