If you are going to crossfire hd5670's, the 1gb versions are a must. Otherwise the drivers won't let you benefit the full power of the cards. The newer drivers have no respect for 512mb versions imo. The 512mb hd4870's using new drivers have lost performance instead of gaining in a review I recently read.

it's only the 512mb version though. and i don't think xfx would be readily available as sapphire and powercolor in my place.

I'd stick with the single 5770. Too much hassle to change IMO for little performance increase. Also you can always crossfire your 5770 later.

aggree with this, the performance gain not worth the efforts. plus the 1gb version needed for cfx is so expensive that you can get a 4770 which perform better

yeah but i wish i could afford it.

basically i want crossfire just for the looks of it. but at least with something descent like a 5670.

i'll probably just give this rig to my sister as soon as i graduate. and my next upgrade will be a completely different rig like a phenom II x6 + 890fx + 5890 when i get a job

I get paid in 8 hours

'When' I have two of these I'm going to test the hardware vs software crossfire (aka bridge on/bridge off). As it might seem ok on review sites rigs stuffed with oddals of RAM and i7's, but I want to test it on a more average machine.

Because thats what I've got lol

edit: hmm, its a toss up between the Powercolor and the MSI. The PC one had the MASSIVE BRICK cooler and the MSI has the I WILL CUT YOUR FINGERS cooler, need a closer look at them (I'm thinking about the memory being cooled enough without me fiddling with them).
