Just curious as to how much of an increase a 5670 would be from a 4670?

Has anyone got some comparisions by any chance?

thanks 1520,
$105 is a small outlay 20% increase over my 4670's, is there any real need for a 1Gb version over a 513Mb card for future crossfire?

I mainly play GRID/DIRT 2/COD style games.

Plus i can keep one of my 4670's in the second slot for the secondary moniter while the 5670 is in there can't I?

I'm getting the 1GB today sometime (memory is mirrored in CF, so 2 x 1GB cards are still just 1GB or it was ?).

And I intend on twisting its nipples off to see how much of that vram it uses, as I'm pretty sure Z's card with 950mhz on the core is gobbling up 512mb easy. So when I CF them I can play with res sizes a bit.

As for the stats versus its predecessor, 20 -30% is more than ok considering it uses less power, makes less heat and gives you all the DX11 goodies.

Its inbetween an upgrade and a sidegrade lets call it a Diagonal-grade

i read somewhere that nvidia sli uses mirrored memory. not really sure about ati cfx but i think it uses the same method too so i think it's better to get 1gb version if you really want to cfx since on single mode that high memory will slowing down the card.

how do you check vram usage? crysis run fine with high resolution and high setting but sometimes i got random lag and freeze. pretty sure it's because of the memory size but don't know which setting consumes memory most. if i can check the usage maybe i can pinpoint which setting should i turn down first.

I'm going 1Gb, using 512mb with two GPUs seems a bit retroactive.

Crysis has never and will never work on anything With my 4670 at its highest clock on the level with the train I get 60+fps when nothings going on, and as soon as theres an explosion I get 1fps I would say thats the core not being able to fill the memory up and out fast enough as opposed to the memory having too much space.

I'm sure someone will bench CF 512mb cards vs CF 1GB cards at some point, I tend to take reviews with a pinch of salt though. For instance I've never seen a reviewer OC a 4670 above 850mhz, I got 901 and no 5670 above 800, but Z got 950

And while I was typing this something appeared at my door

haha (oh, he perminant markered himself this morning )

One problem though, there no ****ing DVI to D-Sub connector so I can put it in yet

Something real strange about mine. Rejected 9.11 9.12 and 10.1 drivers, said they had installed fine but obviously weren't working. Only accepts the drivers off the club 3d disk hmmmmm oh well.

Meh, there are two PC shops in town and they aren't very good (one seems to be more for businesses then other for nubz) if I don't find an adaptor I'm going to go insane.
