New to OC need some suggestions

Thread Starter
ok this is my first post, I'm new to overclocking. All I've ever overclocked b4 now was my video card, and I'm unsure about voltages and such. I currently have my sys running stable, I think, at 3.9Ghz. Can anyone take a look at my specs and let me know if I'm running anything needs to be tweaked or not.

P4 530 3.0 Stock 3.9 OC
Fatal1ty AA8XE (Intel Alderwood-ICH6R)
Sys Clocck: 260Mhz 15x Multiplier
CORSAIR XMS2 Twinx DDR2 533 (PC2 4300) Ram
PCIe Clock: 115Mhz
PCI Clock: 36.36
Vcore: 1.5375
DDR2V: 1.90
DDRVTT: 0.90
FSBVTT: 1.25
NBV: 1.55
NB2.5V: 2.55

Running Water Cooling so temps stay low.

Any Advice would be greatly apreciated...

Welcome to the forums.

That's certainly a nice OC. Your vcore is approaching the recommended limit for water cooled Prescotts, but you still have a bit more room to bump it if it'll help. I believe your vdimm is getting close to the warranty limit for Corsair DDR2 as well (I think it's 1.9 volts, but it's been a while since I've checked).

I would suggest benchmarking your system with your PCIe clock where it current is and with it locked at 100 and 105 MHz to see which gives you the best performance. Theoretically, 100 MHz is optimal, but some boards benefit from a somewhat higher clock on that bus.

All in all, you've done some nice work.

When you have a chance, please take a minute to enter your system specs in your User CP. Links are provided in my sig. That will better help us help you.

Well I ran prime95 and Nalu together last night for about 11hours and no errors on either.. my 3dMark score was 5951, I beleve, but I have gotten as high as 6200 b4. At one time I did have my cpu runnning 4.0Ghz but temps avg'd around 48 and it would crash at random times. I could run prim95 all day long, and play games, but as soon as I tried to compress a file or copy from one drive to another it would crash. I think that the settings now are about as good as it's gonna get but not sure what this proc is capable of.
