New PC, need advice on processor

Thread Starter
Is the 3700+ the best processor out right now for the money? I'm wanting to get the best bang for my buck here. I do more than just play games. I like to edit video, etc. Thanks..

If your wanting to overclock, i would look into an AMD opteron... But for a generally fast computer, a 3700+ is a good processor for the buck.

Actually, the 3700+ got passed by the Opty 148, at least that's that most people say. I definately don't want to start another Opty vs. SD, but I think the Opty will do you pretty well.

Depends on your price range, You might also want to look into a dual core opteron, still good enough if you overclock it for gaming, but amazing for multitasking.
Either way, the 148 opteron and the 3700 SD are about the same price, I like my opteron
