well to change to socket 939 means to buy a 939 mainboard and a 939 CPU and to do so and go socket 939 PCI-E maiboard and CPU will make around 100$ - 200$ from the 754 running at the same level!

If you go with the Venice core, you're going to be running a setup very similar to mine. I'm running 260 x 10, with 1.6 for my voltage. You may want to play with your RAM timings and voltages to run stable. I'm a little hot with a stock cooler (40C idle) but with some better cooling you should be able to get to 2.6 easily.

yeah I am going for Arctic Cooling Freezer which would do good to keep the temperature from raising while game play!

Heat is the enemy as most would say around here. A quality HSF will do wonders for your OC.

Not sure. I'm in the same boat as you are. I had a limited budget and went for 754. You can def upgrade to the 3700+ in 754, and I'm pretty sure 4000+ is available to. That will give you stock speeds of what the OC will be on that Venice you're thinking about getting, which means more OC potential. If you can save that extra $150 then def go 939, but the 754 are by no means dead in the water. I plan on saving and selling this rig for a 939 in around 6 months. It's all up to you.

well to think about the case again, 150$ isn't that much for a socket 939 which is a better socket for a mobo and cpu! And I wouldn't have to buy a new mobo to upgrade to FX or x2 for example!

Exactly. I was justing to anxious and ready to use all the great X-mas money I got, when I should have kept it and saved. I'll be back to work and school in a week and would have made more than enough to cover the difference. Save a little longer and get the 939.
