You have to replace the original iSSDFUT.exe with the exe above on Intel firmware updater cd.

That's strange, I was able to update my drive without problems. Perhaps you still ran the old version. There were similar problems with the previous updater. See this post:

You really don't need the updater cd image, you can just boot to DOS from any DOS image and run iSSDFUT.exe.
