6800 bottlenecked??

Hey guys, I bought an eVGA 6800 recently and wondering if my cpu/ram is limiting its performance.

My current configuration..
northy 2.4c (stock cooling) running at 2520mhz (210fsb x 12) 27c idle 44c load
Value RAM ddr400 running at 210fsb (1:1)
eVGA 6800 at core 353 memory 755

AquaMark score: 52274 (GFX=7581 CPU=8419)

Is this not a terrible score for my GPU or is because of my weak cpu? I'm going to work on a stronger OC tonight or tomorrow and run a divider to see what happens.

I did notice someone on this board running a 6800GS that scored 13218 in Aquamark (damn near double my score)

Any thoughts??

Well it wont be your ram holding you back if anything so mostly your CPU i would say.

Didnt realize i had my gpu overclocked so i updated the first post to reflect the accurate frequencies. Tonight, I managed to achieve some decent Overclocks yet my Aquamark scores didnt improve much at all. Here are the results..

210 fsb 1:1 = 52,274 (gfx 7,581 cpu 8419)
220 fsb 3:2 = 49,969 (gfx 7,539 cpu 7,410)
220 fsb 1:1 = 52,574 (gfx 7,734 cpu 8,297)
230 fsb 3:2 = 51,174 (gfx 7,644 cpu 7,739)
240 fsb 3:2 = 52,546 (gfx 7,806 cpu 8,039)

As you can see, running a divider totally sucks and my RAM is holding my CPU back from reaching a higher fsb (keeping 1:1) to take full advantage of my GPU. At 225fsb 1:1 i got a blue screen in aquamark and anything above that, bios wont post. oh well

For the record, i did manage to hit 251 fsb (3.01GHz) with 3:2 and 1.675vcore however aquamark froze so i didnt both messing around with it after that. Atleast I hit 3ghz

Looks like I'll be staying at 220fsb 1:1 for now

I have the same card, can't you run higher gpu clocks? If you unlocked 16/6 it won't clock as high, at least mine won't. I get better performance at 12/5 420/840.

I just hit detect optimal freq again and it reached 357/764. I'm also at 12/5 as 16/6 wont let me overclock at all and gets minor artifacts. Are you using the detect optimal frequencies feature or manually doing it? Also, which drivers are you using? I'm using the extremeG 81.98 forcewares..

I'm using the drivers off the disc right now, 3dmark05 calls em 8.1.2.6. I used coolbits to overclock and at 420/840 I have to test a few times before it'll pass, so you might wanna try that if your stuck.

yea manual
