I know there is. but Im looking for new DDR that allow me to stay at 1:1 instead of 5:4.
But for half the price of such memorie, I can get another gig so I would have 2gig who will really help in BF2.

But 1gig still cut the butter! What could I expect in term of Perf? 4-5 FPS and maybe 2sec lower in Super Pi (40.400sec <Me)

Well if your really into overclocking your system i would get the Ballistix

You should be able to overclock reasonably well with the Value RAM. Besides, there's no point forking out for fancy performance RAM if you only end up with the same amount you started with.

Just my opinion there.

I'm in a similar boat as you as I wouldn't mind getting some performance RAM but will be going SLi in the next couple of months which will require a motherboard that supports DDR2. There's no point in me getting fancy DDR now if I'm only going to end up replacing it with DDR2 in the near future anyway.

Hi 7NK,

As Enterprise1701 stated the Ballistix is a good overclocker. But along with this is the ability of the ram to keep tight timings at say a 220fsb. You'll have the best of both worlds. Tight timings and at 220fsb, your 3.0 P4 will be at 3.3. If you want more overclock then loosen the timings and go to about 257fsb or 3.855 on the P4. Proper cooling and voltage will be required as well, but this goes without saying for overclockers!

Here's an article on memory timings: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2223

As for maximum overclocks and timings here's another link:

I hope this helped, :-)
