What Motherboard To Get

Thread Starter
I am probably getting an opteron 146 or 148 to overclock in my new computer. I was wondering what is a good MOBO to overclock with. I have heard that DFI LP are not so good for beginners (which this is my first computer build). I am plannig to go SLi. I also have 2 Gb (1 x 1024) of OCZ PC4000 DDR Gold Edition Memory. I was thinking Asus but am not sure. Any suggestions?

If you are going to overclock. Just get the DFI. There is so much online support and guidance for the DFI boards. for example DFI street with tutorials and every other person has like a DFI board, Theres no reason to not get it when you have that much support behind it.

Just get it and we'll walk you through it

You may seem overwhelmed at first with the DFI board, but like my counterparts have said, there is so much help online that you will get the board setup. NCSA's guide is especially helpful. If you wish to get a DFI, the SLi-DR Expert is the best, followed by the SLi-DR, which is cheaper.
If you do not want to go through a bit of reading and trial & error, get the Asus A8N SLi Premium, or its bigger and better brother, the A8N32. (I could not find the A8N32 at any other Canada retailer, the only problem with that site is that it takes a long time for a product to arrive, about 1-2 weeks average.)

I say if you don't wanna struggle with Diamond Flower board, Abit Fatal1ty is way to go. They are rock solid boards and easy overclockers.
