Cooling for 3200+

Thread Starter
I am going to overclock my amd 64 to 2.6GHZ. But my question is, should I look into getting a high performance cooler such as Zalman, or should the stock cooler be good enough. If not, what do yaw recomend?

Definitely not the stock if you are going to be overclocking. What's your budget?

Well, how hot are your temps now with the stock cooler? Looks like you are running 2.6 right now by the looks of your sig. What load temps?
I would try to see how high you can get on the stock cooler, and then find out the max temps. If they are around 50c, then that's not so bad....if you want to upgrade, look to spend minimum $35-60

I dunno squat about water cooling prices so if i was you i'd lash out and get a Thermaltake big typhoon and replace the stock fan with something a bit more powerfull, that'd get u some gd overclocks.

Well I haven't overclocked it yet. Its still at 2.0GHZ, 2.6 is what I am planning to overclock it to. My temps now are about 29C at idle and about 35C on load.

Start overclocking it, stock cooler is fine for now. If you can get to 2.6, then take your temps. An upgraded cooler would probably drop the load temp 5c sometimes more..
