What did you do to load the gpu core? What I'm asking is when was this taken and how long after whatever you were running?

It was taken about 10 minutes after i restarted, running nothing but that program and backround applications (clamwin, FRAPS)

as for the GPU core, i don't under stand? Is it reading tempurtures from the video card?

Also, here is a SS of the program after about 10 minutes of my playing BF2, i downsized and snagged a picture. Is the vcore voltage drop of any significance?

Those are just some incorrect readings....I would download rivatuner and run the monitoring program in the background while you are playing games. That way you can see how hot your GPU is getting..
This doesn't seem to be a CPU problem....Possibly the bios? Do you have the power connector plugged into the 7800GT ?

The Vcore voltage is varying a lot? If so, it's starting to point towards your psu being the cause of your problems. To save time, I'd simply swap out the Aspire for your current psu and rerun the same tests. If your current psu can't handle your comp at load, it'll never be reliable and eventually will ruin your install of windows.

Well from looking at the link to the power supply thats what your problem is, 20A on the 12v is NOT sufficient enough to power your system, i suggest getting an antec truepower II 550W or an equivalent.

Power is connected to 7800GT, bios is default that came on the board. There had been some problems with some versions of the bios that came with the earlier A8N-SLI's with compatibility with dual-core, but my version worked fine. I currently do not have a floppy drive, but might have to go hunting for one to update the bios.

Where in rivatuner is the monitering tool for heat?
