overheated like one too.

SO! bought a new fan and some generic thermal compound (AS5 will have to wait).

Running a fanless x600se HM i couldn't run 450core and 240mem without having some serious heat building up in the case.

if anybody is familiar with the dell dimension you'll know that there is a single fan sucking cold air from the front through a ducted cpu hs blowing all the hot air into the case. (which is left to cool the rest of the components.)

rear vents above the slots were "ok" at venting but circulation was still horrible around certain key components.

thus, came the birth of the beast (known for its growling snarl when you turn it on)

this is the setup. (excuse the horrible drawing)

with this setup. (also some modifications to the front of the case not shown in the drawing) all components are getting cold air and most importantly the ram, chipset, and gpu are getting massive amounts of air. (470core and 285mem on gpu now)

soon with the addition of a new gpu the cooling with be even better however i may have to reduct to get clean fresh air directly to the mouth of the intake for the gpu.

more to come soon.....

thanks for reading.
