Or is that a function of unlocking the chip, that it misreads temperatures?
TMPIN1 is the closest to "accurate" for the core temperature according to CPUID. The Core Temp section isn't working for me.

Actually I just ran LinX 20 times and idle was at 28c and load at 52c.

Thanks man. Ya I was pretty excited when I found out.

I have a few thing in store for spring break in terms of cooling. I will post my diagrams in this thread in a few days.

HDDs $40
Mobo/CPU combo $80
GPU - $170
RAM - $70
Case - $50
PSU - $50 after rebate
CCFL+5 120mm fan - Free With Case
Copper TRUE+San Ac3 1011 - $130
Extra 2 HDD's - Free, gutted from old stuff
DVD-RW - Free, gutted
Card Reader - Free, gutted
San Ace Fan Controller - Free Gutted

The best way to save money on a build is do it over a long period of time. A case, fans and PSU are not going to be obsolete in 2-3 years, so these parts you should be first so you don't get trapped into buying a brand new GFX card and then get forced in to getting ripped off to build you comp so it doesn't go out of style.

Heatsink, HDD, RAM or also not so time sensitive. They are more likely to become obsolete than a PSU, but less than a GPU, CPU or Mobo.

I staggered the cost out over about 2 years. I bought the TRUE and the PSU a while ago. The Copper TRUE was not a bargain at all so it really offsets all the money I saved, but honestly a Venomous-X is about $70 shipped and I don't believe it comes with a bolt through kit. So I don't think I did that bad.

Now the Samsung LED is another story. The cheapest I could find it for was $330 after tax (9.5% in WA ) but out of every place I looked for online, getting it shipped was even more expensive, and I wouldn't have been able to take it back. It is a nice monitor.
