I can't seem to get a network connection

Thread Starter
I just finished building a computer for a buddy (Abit KN8-SLI, 2x512 Gb Geil RAM, Opteron 144, Windows XP Upgrade-full install) and it started up just fine. When he got it back to his house, he tried to connect to his network (router) and the Set-up Wizard did not detect his computer. We tried (via phone) to solve the problem but have not had any success. I'm looking for some ideas; anybody have any?

Make sure the router is set up to DHCP with no MAC restrictions. Also in the BIOS, make sure the Ethernet adapter is enabled. There is sometimes an option ot disable it. And try not to use set-up wizards, more often than not they screw things up.
