how do i overclock my card?

i got a geforce 5500 fx oc and im gunna maybe get a 6800 gt or ati xtacy soon but is there any way i can make my card go faster and work with what i got? thanks everything is much apreciated

Try rivatuner but be gentle when u raise memory and core u can kill the car go by little increments maybe by 5mhz http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163

I like coolbits. yea just go by like 5-10mhz and watch your temps. every once in a while try a game or benchmark and if u see strange things on screen such as lines or green things it meens that your card is overheating. they are called artifacts.
