No video on POST

Thread Starter
I was resetting my FSB back up to 200Mhz (i lowered it to install windows, don't ask, big hassle) and I think I may have set it to 233Mhz instead, i was just scrolling down to the highest, as I thought I was in any other mode then manuel. Now when I try to boot, I have no video what so ever, can't see a thing. My moniter just stays blank on boot up. I tried clearing cmos, and pulling the battery, still nothing. I can hear my HD booting up and everything, just no video.

If you are not hearing any beeps then try to boot with only the following installed:
- cpu with hsf
- video card
- one stick of ram

If the system still doesn't post and you have some old pci video card laying then, by all means, do try it as this could narrow it down to a bad video card or slot.

If that fails pull the ram and video card and see if you can get any beeps from the mobo.

tried taking everything out but vid card, one stick of ram, and the cpu/hsf, and still nothing. Also, when I go to turn it off, I have to hold down the power button instead of just pressing it and it goes right off.

The funny thing is Ive got the same hassle at the moment, no display on my second folding rig, tried vid card, ram, psu, the mobo will beep at me with no ram in, im thinking it could be the winnie 3000+ could be dead, will try that and see how it goes, will post results here. (it has been really hot here and its folding 24\\7 stock cooling but only @ 2250mhz- maybe its cooked)

Do you get a diffrent mobo beep? if so, classify what kind of beep it is. Also, you can look into my FAQ on no moniter posts. It could mean 1 of 3 things

Dead Moniter
Dead Vid Card
Dead Mobo

there are no mobo beeps, nothing. It doesn't even regconize when I take the power cord out of my 9800 pro, ussally the screen would boot up saying in red letters to connect the power to it and the system would just keep beeping. I have tried different vid cards, im going to throw this 2800+ in there next and try.

Yes the CPU is dead, I swapped it out with my venice and it worked fine, then I put the winnie in another rig but nothing, I turned it on with no heatsink and it gets warm but thats as far as it gets, something is stuffed inside, time for a new cpu.
