Got these Pioneer towers last time they went on sale for $130 shipped a set. So 4 towers for 260, 2 bookshelfs for 50, center channel for 75, sub for 80, and the Pioneer VSX-1021 for 300. Total for a rocking 7.1 system brand spankin new, $765. Thank you Newegg.
I thought they sounded pretty good, until I ran the built in mic setup stuff. That in itself is beyond amazing. Broke down the whole system, and told me how far away each speaker was away from the mic I had placed, down to half an inch(I checked it and its dead on). Then it set what looks like an 7-9 band EQ for each individual speaker. And then it setup for a couple other things I dont even know what they mean lol.
Needless to say, now this system sounds like nothing I have ever heard before. And it has so many more options/tweaks/settings I know I am going to have years of tinkering around with it to get it perfect. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good setup.
Anyway, here are some pics of our temp setup until I get a good wall mount for the TV.

My 7.1 setup

I have an Ipod hooked up to the reciever, but it isnt what is playing the music. I used my ANDROID phone to control the receiver to play music from my sig rig through my network. I am not sure if these are normal features, but everyone admits it is pretty dam cool to control it from another room and play whatever I want, and even have 2 zone control!

Rear channel is tucked away down low, but it puts the tweeter right at ear level and lets the bass just roll out around you.
I understand that this system may not sound near as good as you others that spend 4-5 grand on a single speaker, but I am very happy with my setup. Although I would love to hear a real audiophiles setup so I can compare the differences.
