electrostatics and low demand. By the way, Razer and Beats are incredibly overpriced so do some research before buying anything.

I already own the Razer Carcharias, they were about $60 I think. So not terribly expensive but I also wasnt looking to spend $150+ for some headphones that I primarily watch youtube videos and listen to 192 bitrate mp3s through winamp. But I agree, the consensus is that Beats and Razer are generally overpriced for the performance you get.

What are you powering with this?

There is a hafler dh - 500 and that specific amp, both for sale locally for almost the same price. I have a pre-amp, or could always buy the intended pre amp for either, and am curious as to your thoughts on that specific amp?

Also, to ad to the thread, I got these speakers last night locally, from a guy on audiogon. I had money in my paypal sitting for quite some time, and got them relatively cheap.

@jesusboots, 2 Polk LSi9's, with Vr3 Castle mods. You have some pretty good speakers there. thumb.gif

AVR-Onkyo TX-NR808
Front amp-Adcom GFA 555>Polk LSi9's(Vr3 Castle Mods)
Center amp-Adcom GFA 5400>Polk LSi9 bi-amped(Vr3 Castle Mod)
Surrounds-Polk T15's
Sub-Velodyne SPL-1000R (I have a small room)

How much for each amp?

Could anyone tell me where to get some good 5.1 speakers? Not that much about volume, but for sure they musn't buzz at higher volume. I was thinking if there's anything like headphones by sound quality (used only HD 598 for while)?
Will be using them for music and probably television as I might possibly buy USB tuner to my 1440p monitor and sell TV

That Hafler is a warmer sounding amp and has a fan. The Adcom is more in your face and detailed. It comes down to preference. My Polk LSi9's where laid back@stock so I went with the Adcom.

My choice would be the Adcom, even with your speakers. smile.gif

I intend to go much further up the gamut as far as speakers are concerned. I have b&w602s2 in the living, which are far to big of a sound for my computer room.

What you see in the picture are 600s3's, and dm303s.

I am planning a trip, in the next month or so to go hear some tannoy, a few hours from where I am at, if all else fails, I will be getting 805d's from b&w and will settle in with them.

edit: There was a reason I typed any of that.

Point I was trying to make, was that I would like to get a "real" amp, sooner than later.
