Great pick up on the amp! Looks like you have some JBL L-1's and a Klipsch bookshelf on the right side of your picture. Set a pair of those up with the Parasound and see how you like it. wink.gif

I don't notice a difference going from Dac to Dac or amp to amp if both dacs or amps do their job without coloring the sound.

hi.. thanx... loving the Parasound

I tried it at first with the minimus 7's and then after that some Mini Advents I had laying around (i have a stupid amount of little bookshelf speakers at this point =p) just now I tried it with some B&W DM302's (very nice)...

yeah so those are inded JBL L1's (love them ..these are my favorite bookshelf speaker I own) and a pair of Klipsch KG2.5's on the shelf I will have to give the Parasound a go with those (and the B&O RL 60.2's below them) and maybe my MA Silver S1's also...(like I said I have a lot of bookshelf speakers).

I have to remind my wife that thanx to my luck / thrifty nature I ain't spent too much money on this gear i got the L1's for $40 for example and the B&W's for $20

some people have spent more on their speaker cables (lol) than I have for all those speakers.

I bought a X3 finally. Now I own 2 Fiio products the other being Fiio e7 (Original with 44/16-bit support).

When downloading a 24-bit/192Khz file and converting it to 44.1/16-bit than playing back both files, the 24-bit version allows me to apply higher EQ without it distorting.

24-bit = +5 bass/treble
16-bit = +1 or 0 bass/treble

these are selections before it sounds like its distorting. The 24-bit wins for higher EQ headroom but is it really worth the 100MB of space? maybe if the song is worth it

EDIT: Maybe I'm tripping out but when converting the same 24-bit to 320KB mp3 i end up having to apply -2 bass on the MP3 file because it distorts at higher volume. I would not recommend mp3 320 on this device at max volume without applying some EQ to it

Just picked these up from my dad this week. He's selling his house and had these items collecting dust in the basement for the past 9 years. It was so cluttered in the basement these were literally hidden away. Pretty excited about it.

JBL Model L100 Century Speakers / 1st Generation

Also found a Marantz SR-7300 Receiver, Kenwood VR-606 Receiver, Sony STR-K840P 5.1 Surround Setup and Pioneer S-H453FK floor standing speakers.

I'm keeping the JBL's for sure. Will be looking to pick up a vintage amp to run them. (Marantz 2220B?)

Selling the Receivers and may use the Pioneer speakers as front home theater speakers. Unsure of their performance though.

My setup is the E7 for my PC and X3 on the go but the problem I came across was my E7 not working. The Aux jack was busted didn't allow audio to go through even if USB was connected, I assume there is some switch or something on the jack that allows it to switch to USB audio?. Anyways I took it apart and removed the jack altogether, tested 2 random points together on my flat head which happen to be the switch! I found the problem, all I have to do is solder each points together. This did the trick now when I plug in my E7 on USB I get audio on both output jacks! awesome.

You can call this a permanent USB In solution for the E7 No more realtek HD

Ya. I put a water testing thread on my local classifieds and some guy offered me $250 for them, but I'm still going to keep them. Stick them on short stands and pick up a Marantz 2220 vintage amp or something and use it for music. biggrin.gif

you could likely get more than $250 for them...I'd still keep them, unless I really needed the money

so is there a tear on one of the cones however ...??? hard to tell on the picture but kinda looks like it?
