What a deal!!!

This sound-bar somehow sounds even worse then the tv mad.gif

Yet they don't want a proper sound system because 'too many cables' rolleyes.gif

/rant

If anyone wants to donate a new tv and about $1000 worth of audio products I'll gladly take them wink.gif

Believe it or not most Soundbars have issues with dialogue it seems.. You'd think they'd be optimized for dialogue, but no..

My parents, with similar thinking, wanting to reduce cables/remotes/hassle/complexity went and got themselves a Samsung.. i think its an F750 soundbar, Normally $800 but marked down to under $400 at best buy on clearance.. They used it for a few weeks before they just went "meh" to the entire thing and hooked their Onkyo NR606/Polk Audio Monitor towers + center back up.. They just only run a 3.1 setup now versus 5.1 (The room the F8000 is in is just NOT shaped well for doing a full 5.1 surround experience.. we've tried. part of the thinking was "if we cant have 5.1 we might as well do a soundbar..")

The Samsung isnt a BAD soundbar, but two issues, one was dialogue was simply near impossible to discern most of the time, and two is that the room is too cavernous for it to adequately fill the room with audio without being too loud

For fun, i took it and hooked it up to my PC, Oddly enough it works -amazingly- well for PC gaming and music... I think its partially that i used my Titanium to feed it an Analog Stereo Signal, versus letting it do all the processing and trying to process a Dolby 5.1 track to 2.1.... and partially that by doing so, im sitting significantly closer to it and the "sound field" it needs to make is a lot smaller.. So Im actually planning to rework my stuff to have it as an option for when im playing games and dont want to bother with my headset smile.gif I mean, why let it go to waste?

Some of them are a hit and miss sadly. Then you have ones with built in subs or separate subs and they're crossovered too high. Making male voices really boomy. Sometimes I figure if they even test them properly. And I feel like some of these tiny full range drivers they'll use are only good for near field listening.

O.o Good buy! I've got my BiFrost Uber on order at the moment, I'm going to go for some Hi-FiMAN HE-560's or Audeze LCD-2's and then start tube rolling with my Lyr 2 I think! biggrin.gif

There's a pile of Schiit on my desk -.- HAAAAA!

Just got my Wyrd and Modi in the mail. It may turn out I never needed the Wyr from the get go since I think it was the amp that was bad but whatever, I'll keep it anyways since I like the company. Their customer service (Nick) is awesome. The "SYS" is super nice, it's just simply a passive switch. So now I don't have to keep going behind the amp and swapping cables to hook up my turntable's cables or swap back to the DAC. One push of a button and it switches ^__^ The resistence on the push switch is perfect. Enough to not feel cheap but not too much that it pushes the device back when trying to engage the switch.

I'm returning the Little Dot for a Valhalla 2 and hopefully that fixes my issues.

Very nice looking. How does it sound?
which part?

With the MK3 words can't describe it but unfortunately I can't use it since it's giving me issues now. Going through my Topping VX1 the Modi is great. Wyrd is just to clean up the signal from USB and shouldn't affect your sound too much and the SYS is passive and shouldn't do anything to your sound period. It's just a switch.

The DJPre II is pretty nice. I mean it was only 50 bucks but compared to my Pioneer SX636? It doesn't hold a candle to it. The Pioneer is down currently as it needs to have some worked on the phono stage.

Sony MDR-1RBT Headphones.

Surprised with the quality of the audio over bluetooth, Quite good after i tweaked the EQ a bit. Plug them in and the quality is noticeably a lot better obviously (They can run as passive headphones or as a pair of bluetooth ones) but over bluetooth is still -very- solid I'd say... Definitely keepers for my phone biggrin.gif

Having the option of bluetooth for some situations is a positive and outweighs the slight reduction in quality.. IE, no more cord to get tangled or caught on things when im moving...
