v6. JPlay is a high end digital music player and, in my opinion, has the best SP of any player and I've pretty much tried them all.. It's not a music manager, just a player that uses as little computer resources as possible. The tl:dr story is that it streams digital files from the memory sticks in your computer using the clock in your USB DAC (and will even do so while the computer is in hibernate mode). If buying new speakers. new amp, new preamp, new cables etc. peels back a layer of an onion where perfect SQ is at the core, Jplay will peel back another layer.

Just came across this thread, nice to see that this forum also has some audio lovers. Last weekend I upgraded my double streaming setup from JPlay 5.2.1 to version 6. Again a nice improvement
Amazing how this "audio thing" works on pc's. If you want to get even better sound quality with JPlay I highly recommend running Windows Server 2012 as OS and using the Audiophile Optimizer script after installation. See my sig for the dual pc setup(control pc and audio pc), passively cooled and with a dedicated linear psu and battery powered cf-card/ssd.
