Any idea what i should change the audio format to on my computer for this thing ?28150676452_74bd96926e_o.jpg[/url]

Personally I have always gone by what the highest supported sampling rate of my DAC is for my Windows / OS settings. For example, my Schiit Gungnir supports up to a 24-bit / 192 kHz sampling rate. So, in Windows, I go under my "playback devices" and set the sampling rate to always be 24/192 for my Schiit Gungnir DAC. I have always had a good experience doing it this way.

If you are not talking about sampling rates, but instead the actual audio "format" then I would strongly recommend using ASIO or WASAPI for your PC audio output to your DAC. Either of these formats will get you the best performance if your source is a Windows PC. There is a wealth of information on Google about both of these topics if you want to know more.

Also, Schiit just released the Modi-Multibit (TOTL Multibit technology in a tiny DAC) and they are offering an amazing discount for anyone who recently bought any other Modi recently. I would strongly recommend that you take a look at the Modi-Multibit as it is hands-down the best "bang-for-your-buck" DAC available currently.

Warning: Schiit Inside! (Click to show)

Modi Multibit: Unique Multibit Architecture and Digital Filter

Price: $249

Modi Multibit is the most affordable multibit DAC with a modern architecture—from any manufacturer, from any country in the world. Featuring Schiit’s unique closed-form digital filter, and using the same Analog Devices AD5547 multibit DAC as Bifrost, Modi Multibit smashes the high-price barrier in multibit DACs.

Enjoy your new setup!

Didn't get anything today, but I set up my Little Dot 1+ and Grado SR225i rock music combo for some easy listening. Didn't feel like switching back to my usual pair so I kept them around for a few days. Now, I know this isn't the place, but I'd like to ask some advice. I booted up World of Warcraft to do a Firelands run (mount farming so my Pally can out-swag those Demon Hunters) and I have this weird crackling sound, like Cicadas. No matter where I go, what audio settings I use, whether I'm tabbed out or not, WoW makes this weird bug sound. Now, to reiterate: This sound doesn't happen with my Shure SE215 IEMs, It doesn't happen with my JVC HA-S680s, and it doesn't even happen with a pair of Apple Earpods I borrowed from my cousin. It ONLY happens when I'm in game (not on character select or log in) and it changes based on where the camera is. Any experts out there? Is it my tubes?

I had similar problems a while ago.
Try moving your amp further away from your router and any other electronic equipment and see if the "bug" disappears.
IDK why it would only do it in-game, but won't cost anything to try and only takes a moment of your time.

It's called electronics guys. Something as simple as fans spinning up on a GPU or case could do it and don't get me talking about proper grounding or static.

I'm going back under my rock..

So, this crackling sound ONLY happens while using your SR225i's on your LD 1+? Were the other headphones you mentioned tested on the LD 1+ as well or on some other device? To me it doesn't sound like "tube rush" or bad tubes... As I have experienced both before and it definitely doesn't sound like cicadas. Try testing out some other games with the LD 1+ and the Grados, as well as other various Windows tasks. If you can only reproduce the sound in WoW then you know it is a problem related to WoW. If not, then it could be a problem with the LD 1+ or how your audio is being transferred from your PC to your LD 1+.

I'm 99% sure it's related to WoW at this point because I've tried multiple games (Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, CS:GO. Borderlands, Bioshock) and there is no sound like that. No matter what I plug in to my LD 1+ it sounds like that in WoW, but very faintly. I didn't notice it at first since it's so much louder on my Grados but it is definitely there for the others. I can't find any fix online, but it doesn't really matter. I can just use another pair of headphones. Thanks anyway thumb.gif

For me a DAP was a game changer for listening on the go. The AK300 smashes my X7 as far as user interface and sound quality.... I was prepared to buy the AK320 and i could not hear the difference at the local dealer over the AK300.

I'm still waiting for my STAX HP's to arrive.
I've been "tube curious" for some time...
I saw a review of this amp, and that it was supposedly a fantastic pairing with the Fostex TH-X00's

Ordered it today. Now the wait begins...
