Hey there guys i was wondering what will be better out of the too of these cards..i know th X1600XT is cheaper but what card will be most suited to my system
post #2 of 68
personally i would go for the x1600xt as it has a a core clock speed which is 200mhz faster than the x800gto2, also the x1600xt has newer technology, everything else is practically the same between the card i beleive, and if u say the x1600xt is cheaper then there is no option really

The X800GTO is a better card:

Depends on the price difference really. If it's not massive then I'd take the X800GTO

We are forgetting other things people. The new X1000 series supports HDR and also has SM3. Meanwhile the X800GTO doesn't support HDR and only has SM2. X1600XT have 12 pipes, but X800GTO have 16 pipes, i don't know, i'll rather buy X1600XT.

The X800GTO does not have 16 pipes, it has 12 pipes. The X800GTO2 can be flashed to a X850XTPE. Personally, i would go with the X800GTO/2. The X1600XT sucks IMO.

Agreed. I too do not like the x1600XX series of cards. You can pick up a x800GTO2 for about $170 nowadays on newegg and flash that to a x850XTPE which would cost over $400 new. This would be the best way to go in my opinion. Talk to Burn or Sphere if you have questions about flashing.

Good luck.

*EDIT* VERY good deal
