well i disagree with what u said. i had an intel before. intel multitasking beats amd not only in benchmark but also in real world performance. eveyone here knows that AMD sucks at multitasking ( unless u get dual core off course ).

P.S i am AMD fan. and intel sucks so i m not being bias. just telling my experience

Well, hopefully I won't be too disappointed, if at all. I tend to multitask more than game. Whether that was a consequence of my lack of ability to game hardcore, or just my nature, will soon be revealed!

If that's what you consider multi-tasking I don't think that you'll have a real problem

I considered this, as it isn't really seen as multi-tasking (although, technically, it is) so I should be alright.

You have to consider what multitasking really is. Everything listed so far (except gaming and video encoding) is just idle work. It doesn't use a noticable ammount of CPU time. Multitasking is when you have one program that uses 100% of the cpu... and you also have other programs that need a good chunk of it also. For example, encoding a video while ripping an audio CD to MP3; when done separately the video encode will use 100% and the audio encode will use say 40%. Now when you try and do both at the same time, one is going to be slower than before. If all your processes added up don't make 100% then you're not multitasking in a situation where HT would help (on single core, at least).

Sucks at multitasking? Yours may have, mine doesnt. I can run Trillion, Xfire, Firefox, and Div X at the same time fine.

You may want to try mozilla firefox, trust me it will be worth the time, and with it you don't have to hassle with tabs and securty holes and such. Also when you first install it it askes you if you want to inport your favorites from IE so you don't have to rebookmark them.
