Yes, what would the basic steps be for copying a DVD, assuming you were going to go through your HDD first?

Just place it in DVD tray, load DVDShrink and burn it to the HDD, then what? I mean, if it has to be compressed or toyed with, what would you do?

Then again, I should probably go read www.doom9.net but if you guys could throw it into a "1, 2, 3" easy step format, that'd be cool too.

no... you need to open dvd decrypter first. click on the rip button at the bottom of the screen. choose where you want to put the file, and wait for it to rip. then once its ripped(in files, NOT AN ISO) you can open shrink and either take out all the crap besides the movie(this is what i do on my personal backup copies) or leave the menus in and get horrible compression.

Is there any way to avoid the horrible compression, but at least keep in the menus for scene selections? I don't mind throwing out the extras and such, but not being able to choose what part of the movie I want to see from a menu would be kind've annoying...that's one part of DVDs I loved.

not really, it depends on the size of the movie... for shorter movies, there wont be any compression. for bigger movies, there will be lots of compression. you wont notice it though unless you have like a 70 inch tv.

Nero OEM Suite came with my drives. I'm installing it now. This will work for burning both DVDs and CDs, right?

My cousin says he only uses DVDShrink to burn DVDs, he hasn't needed to use any decrypter. I guess I should just get it anyway, to be sure, yes?

DVD Cloner is a nice app as well although you have to pay for it. I use it to copy episodic stuff.

What does Cloner do?

Also, which program in Nero do I use to burn DVDs? I have Nero Express, Nero Backitup, and Nero Vision Express. I'm guessing plain old Express.
