*Update* New i7 920 Build Project - DEFCON - Page 2

The price difference between the LE and the SLI is down to $20 at some places, so if I go the EVGA route it would be the SLI. The SLI Classified looks to fit in the case by .25" but would be pretty crammed in there. Also looking at the Gigabyte EX58A-UD7, haven't perused around the ASUS site for board details yet, so that's still on my "to do" list.

I'm 99% committed to the UD7 at this point. Being a straight ATX form factor leaves me with a good possibility of still using the 900 case I have.

All of this Fermi stuff going around leaves me hanging in the video department. Ideally I would like to get the new card with everything else, but if I have to run the 8800 another month it's not a big deal. I'll probably rock a 5870 on the ATI side if I go that way, since the performance per $ drops way off for the 5970.

Well it's amazing how a 15% Bing Cashback greases the wheels a bit ;-)

Ended up getting a X58 Classified, 6GB Corsair Dominator kit, and the XFX 5870 XXX for $850 after discounts, rebates, and Cashback.

I'm almost tempted on picking up another 5870 for $350-$360 for XXX after BCB, but I thought hedging right now would be a good idea, especially since I may need to drop $$ on a new case.

The difference between the regular and the XXX ended up being $15 bucks. For that little bit I figured might as well warranty the slight overclock.

Still need to pick up new HDD drives, possibly new DVD and / or BD drives, but much further down the road at this point
