For goodness sakes, which computer is having the chop but high FPS?

So do you actually have a FPS counter running and you can see it never dip fps but chop?

Is your hard drive churning away when it's chopping?
I get choppiness (if by choppiness you mean screen tearing) when VSYNC is off. When I turn it on everything is gravy. The reason you get such low FPS with VSYNC on is because the horizontal and vertical refresh rates are syncronized and it can't go over your refresh rate (for most LCDs, 60fps). It shouldn't matter anyway and the screen should look responsive and fresh.

If your actually getting CHOPPINESS, as in stuttering. Then its some sort of driver/bottleneck, likely in the graphics card seeing as your maxing things out on a card that is AWESOME but not max-outable in BF2 (especially at the 1280 res your probably running).

BTW -- chill the frick out people, if you are all pissy about people not acting truthfully, then just move on to the next post, were not putting a gun to your head to friggin reply. chill out.

Do remember this is an ONLINE game. Try playing single player - if everything is working fine and up to your standards you should be ok. Try to avoid 64 player servers as even though your equipment is up to snuff the server may not be. Also, know this - bf2 is a semi-poorly coded game as of late to make the deadline for xmas on Special Forces. This might have some play into the problems you experience.

I'm going to be honest with you, your post sounds more pissy then all of mine put together.

"Judge not lest ye be judged yourself" comes to mind here.

.......if you'd have read his posts properly in the 1st instance, you would have understood quite easily which rig he is referring to re. choppiness, and which rig he has upgraded from.

Fair enough.

You have to admit, that second post he made could have easily been taken the way I saw it.

Of course we all know his old rig wouldn't run bf2 at 60fps
