Well, OK, but at the end of the day that vendor has guaranteed me that it will cost £300, so i will not have to pay any more.

Either its gonna cost a ton or Sony is gonna loose tons...or they use shoddy parts that have lots of problems like the 360 did.
Very nice!

At the time PS2's came out you could get a decent single-disc dvd unit for about 250$, and a low-end for about 175$ish. But most were upwards of 300.
I should know, shortly before the PS2 came out I bought a single disc Sony DVD player for 250$

Don't forget that 300 GBP is like $530 US... so it's not like that's any huge bargain. It's more than the price speculation in the posted article.

How much will the revolution cost?

It's going to be significantly behind the Ps3 and 360 in terms of graphic power, and that controller looks like a pretty gimmicky idea to me. I think I'll pass.

I remember I got the gamecube for christmas the year xbox came out because it was the last system left on the shelves. I traded it in after like 3 months. I'm going to preorder ps3 this time.
Err riight..

$200 ish.

No, ATI has said it cant be compared to the Xbox and PS3 in graphics output because its not based on PC technology. Its a completely new chip that ATI developed solely for the Nintendo Revolution, thus making it more optimized than any other system because its completely custom parts made to work with everything else, not just modded PC chips to work on the motherboard of the console. But also, mhz and pipelines dont relate to image quality at all. You could have a 5ghz core clock GPU with 100 pipelines and GDDR10 RAM at like 8ghz.. But if the card cant do AA and AF very well then its gonna be fast, but the image is gonna look like crap.

So we have nothing to estimate how powerful it will be? I know they were saying it will be 3 times the power of the gamecube. I also heard that there will be a challange in making the same game for all three, because there will be such a gap. Speculation aside we have to wait until launch to see what it can do and if it is close to the ps3 in terms of graphics then $200 would be a great deal.

That powerful was reffering to speed though, not graphics.. Though if it was x3 the graphics it would be uber lol. But it just doesnt work that way.. And yeah, well see less for all-console games.. Revolution will definately be the easiest to code for, and a controller is a controller, that doesnt really matter. Its the hardware.. The Xbox360 will be next in being that its triple cored, and finall the PS3 with the cell. And besides though, Nintendo has the best bang for the buck in this generation. I mean, look at the Gamecube. It costs less than the other consoles and it had graphics that are still up there with the Xbox in some games, and TP isnt looking bad at all either (along with the metroid games). And really though, we all better hope Nintendo succeeds, because I think without Nintendo that will leave a huge gap in the gaming world that could never be replaced.
