Hi Spice1,

Could you add a little more info. Your new PC has the Seagate 160Gb 7,200 rpm drive with Windows XP Home, correct?? Your old PC had the 5,400 rpm drive with programs or other stuff you want on it, correct? Now your looking for a way the move some of the stuff off the old onto the new, correct?

Is your new PC/hard drive SATA or PATA? Meaning Serial ATA (smaller cable) vs Parallel ATA (large ribbon type cable). This and how the hard drives are fomatted will make some differences on what you want to do. Windows XP home if bought new, not upgraded, will be NTFS format. The older hard drive, unless Win XP will most likely be FAT32 format. All of this is very significant with transfer of files or how the drives interact.

The speed or RPM's of the drives make no difference, other than access speed of the hard drive.

Does all of this help, more than confuse?? Please post back :-)

455buck i think your confusing things lol.
Im pretty sure hes asking if he can install those both into the same comp.
And yes you can. Theres no reason it wouldnt work.
Just make sure one is set to master and the other slave.
If u set it up that way.
