Windows Memory Diagnostic Help

Thread Starter
My computer was randomly shutting off and I sent the info to microsoft and eventually I got a link that told me to run te Memory Diagnostics test. I ran it and I got over 6000failures on the WMATS+ test. I tried to check for the specific module that was failing and it couldn't tell me. I then ran the extended tests and I ended up with over 32,000 failures on the same test. My computer doesn't shut down that often so it's not that big of a deal but if anyone has any advice on finding the specific problem it would help.

What timings are you running? Are you overclocked at all? How much voltage are you giving your RAM?

Download memtest and run it for a couple of hours and it should tell you what kind of errors you have with a fault code.

I'm not overclocked at all because I've been having problems. I don't really remember what my timings are but I think it's all 5's and a 12. Just a guess because I haven't really messed with the timings only the fsb and the speed of the memory.

Now I've got an even more annoying problem. If my mem is a hardware problem that's easy to fix but for some reason I have a software problem now. Everything's going wrong. Now whenever I go to open a link in internet explorer that opens the link in a new window a window will open but the link won't load so I have to copy and past the link into the address bar to do anything. I need all sorts of help all of the oddest problems happen with my compter.
