MSI 8400GS Vmod (Need help)

So, let me start off by saying that I plan on taking this thing to its ABSOLUTE limits. If it frys, so be it.

Ok, I have absolutely no Electrical Engineering experience at all.

I understand I need to take pictures of the front and back of it for you guys to fully grasp what you are looking at, so here they are...

up6161 pin 4 is FB pin 7 is ground. Measure the resistance between the marked pins on each IC & multiply by 20 for vr to use.

Edit, changing the pic, if the circled areas are connected to caps on the front I would try there for vmeasure points.

There are two 6161 chips on that PCB. Not sure which one is for what. Though here is the data sheet for the IC

FTW~I see you noticed that as well and marked them on the pic. Do you know which one is for what?

Ok, they are both connected to circle things with what looks like copper wire wrapped around them.

I have seen much larger versions in a PSU before, I think the circle is composed of a ceramic of sorts, and the "wire" is indeed copper. (Got bored and decided to pull a PSU apart, took the wire and burned it, it burned green.)

So I should buy;
Multi-Meter
Electrical tape
Cooler of some sort(plan on fashioning one out of an OCZ vindicator, beast mode, I know.)
Silver conductive pen?

Anything else?

Those should work to measure the voltage.
First you would need a multi meter, measure the voltages at stock (the one around 2 volts would be the memory), then with the card out of the PC & unpowered measure the resistance between the 2 pins on each IC.
Take each resistance measurement & multiply it by 20 to get the size of the VR (variable resistor) you need (if it is an oddball # get the bigger vr, eg measure 1.4K x 20 = 14K use a 20K vr) & dial it in to your # between the middle & 1 of the outer legs, then solder it in to the pins on the IC.
So you will need a multi meter, soldering iron, & a couple of variable resistors. Some super glue to hold the vrs to the card & a better than stock cooler is definitely recommended.
To keep the soldered connections in place I generally use liquid electrical tape or kneadable eraser, people also use tape & hot glue etc. Just to keep the connections from getting accidentally pulled when handling the card afterwards.

The mod seems a piece of cake...
Anyway u can try modding only one chip and observe which voltage rises.
Would be either vmem or vgpu,then mod the other too!

You would have to use a multimeter & test for continuity between the mod point & the resistors nearby to find the resistor to shade.
