HELP! Slow RAID 0 - Page 2

Well i noticed one thing. It says that the first HDD is on Sata Channel 0.0

and the other is on channel 0.1

Is that usual? I thought the whole channel thing worked differently.

Check your motherboard manual. If you have 4 or 6 SATA ports, only ports 1 and 2 may support full raid speeds. As mentioned earlier, your plots look botlenecked by something other than the drives' actual speeds.

according to the MSI website all 5 of them are Sata 3.0 GB/s or Sata II

this is annoying why cant i get it to work?

I got to say this seems to be the only problem that cant be solved. I have searched for Hour now and nothing.

OK, So i spent the ENTIRE NIGHT up trying to solve this problem with minor success.

Check it out:



How ever this was only on Safe Mode.

On "regular" mode i did all i can to replicate the safe mode results but i kept hitting bumps.

To me it seems as if the HD is stuck on some type of Pio mode in "regular mode" but some how doesn't have these restrictions in "safe Mode"

Im still working on how to solve this problem but if any one has a clue on what it might be don't hesitate to tell me.

It will be faster if u set your Raid with 128k striped. and make sure you enable the read&write thingy in the driver.

Reinstall your chipset drivers. If you get better performance in Safe Mode then you have some god-awful drivers messing things up somewhere.

BTW - if you switch to 128k stripe, you will likely see a slightly higher benchmark, but in real-world use your array will perform similarly and possibly even worse than with 64k stripes. Don't bother changing.

Rgr.

Im actually working on what i can do about the drivers. It gets a bit complicated with all these nvidia updates and what not. Im having trouble figuring out which is the problem.

And as for the 128k.. Its only good if you have a array where you keep music and other files. Dosnt work so well on the array you boot off

So i reinstalled windows and that fixed some thing how ever im still only getting about 100MB/s i was expecting 120
