Asus A8N-SLI premiun - Page 2

The A8N-SLI Premium doesnt have any fans on it, the northbridge and southbridge chipsets are both cooled passivly.

The board itself is no bigger than your average ATX board, its just really well spaced out.

The BIOS features are very good compared to most boards, but the DFI still beats it in terms of setting changability. As has already beed stated, the vCore maxes out at 1.55v and the vDimm at 3.2 approx.

The only other problem I have come accross is that it doesnt like having 4GBs or RAM installed, it only recognises 3.5GBs approx. to be honest though, 4GBs is a bit overkill, 2GBs is normally enough to keep you happy.

It does have copper piping and actually the autoswitching is hardware based in the bios, not software or driver controlled so its very stable. Its nice to switch from one card to two and back if you are running older games (Aliens vs predator won't run in sli for example). Here are a couple of pics with the premium before I upgraded

What BIOS version are you running? I was using 1006 and I could go up to 1.55, but since I changed to 1009 it only goes up to 1.5. Also, what is the volt mod you are talking about?

Because they are faulty.
Or they are talking about the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

I am at 1009.
The newest stable BIOS.

The volt mod can be found http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=41735 here.-
All you do is solder the right leg to the where it shows you on the mobo.
Then put the middle to ground which is the case or powersupply.
Leave the left leg alone.
And get a multi turn trim pot they are safest.

Just a quick question, does the Asus A8N SLi Premium support FSB in excess of 300? I want clock a opteron 144 up to 2.8+, is this possible on this board? or am I going to have to opt for a DFI?
Mine supports up to 340FSB last time I checked.

I also have the Asus A8N-SLI Premium.
It's a very stable board, very overclocker friendly, and the heat pipe works great. I highly recommend this board.
