Low end gaming build

Thread Starter
I am trying to build a decent low budget gaming build for my nephew. I have an old hard drive that will work for now and also a 750psu lying around. Other then that I am looking at new parts. Not really looking to spend a lot but I'll post what I have found so far.

Antec 300 midtower $59.95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042

Asus M4A785TD-V Evo $99.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131398

AMD Athlon II Dual Core Regor 2.8Ghz $53.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103714

Zalman CPU Heatsink (the copper ring LED one) $53.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211409

Memory Data Gaming 4GB $97.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118030

Cd Burner Sony $24.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118019

Sapphire HD4670 $69.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102855

so far it comes out at $459.90USD Any suggestions I am sure will be helpful. Also most of it is free shipping which is nice!

EDIT: looking to spend no more then $500USD but the less I spend the better.

If you are not doing xfire then this mobo will do fine:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-603-_-Product $85

Also, this cooler is more than adequate for your needs, the zalman is a bit of overkill (which isn't a bad thing ).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...%20hyper%20212 $30

That will save you $30 bucks more

Case:
Antec 300 isn't in stock, but this one is cheaper and also an excellent case - Cooler Master Elite 335 RC- $50 shipped
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119161

CPU+Mobo:
The Regors are decent, but a Phenom II is better for gaming. This is a combo of the PHII 545 2.9GHz Dual Core and an ASUS M4A77TD AM3 770 - $155+$3 shipping
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.334788

Memory:
Your memory choice is fine.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211410

CD:
Seems fine. Cheap and free shipping.
http://www.newegg.com/Shopping/Shopp...82E16827118030

GPU:
Sapphire 5750. Will outperform the 4670 by quite a bit. It's a bit more powerful than a 4770, a little less powerful than a GTS 250 1GB, all three at roughly the same price point - 4770 slightly cheaper, 1GB GTS 250 slightly more. $130 shipped.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102859

$457.93 shipped. $40 left give or take for the CPU cooler if you feel it's necessary.

My only suggestion is a slightly better GPU. Something along the lines of a 4850 should do fine. Newegg has a Sapphire 4850 for $99.99, so you would stay within budget. Link here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102824

Great suggestions Tainok. Didn't see that combo deal with the Ph.II 545 and the mobo I said.

I'd probably go with the 5750 for the lower power consumption. For $30, you can't go wrong with the Hyper 212+ though. Great cooling solution for anyone on a budget.

Was not sure if you had a DVD Burner or not. I see you had CD Drive listed. Also not 100% sure if that Vid card is an upgrade from the 4650 you had listed. Mind you I did not list a case as I figured that with what I have listed there you should be able to find a really nice case that fits your needs. I hope this helped!

That GT220 is a step below a 4670.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Case: Didn't see that it wasn't in stock. I like the way this one looks and its sorta mini one of my HAF932. He should like that. $49.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119161

Motherboard: Asus M4A785TD-V Evo $99.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131398
Rather then buying him one expensive video card I like the thought that I can get him another a little down the road. After all this is sorta a reward for him doing better in school.

CPU/Heatsink: AMD Phenom II X2 545 Callisto 3.0GHz. I can stick with a stock heat sink for now. I still will be able to OC it a bit. $84.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103694

Gonna stay with my original mem
Memory Data Gaming 4GB $97.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118030

CD Drive was fine I think.
Cd Burner Sony $24.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118019

GPU: Sapphire 5750. I like the idea of getting one of these and being able to get another down the road to xfire. Plus it has directx11. How does it compare to a 4890? $139.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102859

Ha, just added it all up and its $497. Hhmmmm. Still do able just probaly not going to order it all at one time.
