It depends what you were watching. I can tell you while gaming in bf3 it has a more buttery smooth feel and and I just average 85fps. Its not a necessity but this is ocn and it sure is a nice luxury smile.gif

120hz is better for gaming, vsynch divisor are double and the responsive panel / input lag is its point of power.

Absolutely not, XBOX 360 will never come close to 120 FPS, which negates having a 120 Hz monitor

The 120hz monitor will still run smoother than a 60hz. smile.gif

Will the BenQxl2420 120hz monitor itself run smoother than lets say buying the asus ve278q which is about 60hz. I know the xbox 360 can't play at 120hz, but will it still be an overall performer in general.

I cannot honestly compare the two monitors. So far I have not heard anything negative about the new Asus 27" that is supposed to be capable of 144hz. I would expect the Asus to have better color especially right out of the box. The BenQ requires some time adjusting the settings and actually a little bit of time learning how to use the monitor. I don't know anything about BenQ's new monitor coming out soon.

I use to play on a tube tv, then i switched to a 45inch tv. The enemies run so quick across my screen like a blink of an eye that it's like my eye sight can't keep up. im sure its not my connection as i have Fios 50/50. I need a good monitor about 24inches, that won't give me motion blur as im very sensitive to it. can anyone suggest? I need something very smooth, price is not a problem smile.gif all of my gaming will be done on xbox 360.

The major new development that is currently shaking the "120 Hz gaming world" is the LightBoost trick.

It is currently a popular thread:
LightBoost zero motion blur -- Get CRT quality motion on LCD's

If you have the following 120 Hz monitor:
- ASUS VG248QE, VG278H, VG278HE
- BENQ XL2411T, XL2420T, XL2420TX, XL2720T
- ACER HN274H
- Samsung 700D, 750D, 950D (separate Samsung howto)
Then there's a method of reducing motion blur even further, all the way to CRT-quality zero motion blur by tweaking the settings of your monitor and/or drivers.

Go to the new popular thread for more information.
