Maybe i missed this, but how are the side panels attached? I see no screws, and it isn't glued because you need to be able to remove them.

Nicely done, Photograph.

I like that idea of keeping the stock internal framework and fabricating a new outer shell.

Your first cable sleeving endeavor turned out very nicely as well.

Here's to a job well-done

I'm a huge fan of the acrylic floor +fan mount, wonderful idea!
Two comments: Where could I find a link to the nexus hdd mounts?
Yo dawg,
I heard you liked cases, so I put your case in your case so you can post while you post.
Here's where I got the HDD mounts from:

I'm not trying to put your excellent and well conceived work down, However I feel obliged to give you the credit and respect you deserve and point out 2 smallish things I noticed. I'm sure you won't take offense to a bit of constructive criticism. The holes on the front for your CD drive, fan controller etc. They don't look entirely straight, on the fan controller it goes up to the left and leaves a bit of a hole. I would look nicer if it were flush. Last thing, I noticed what looks like black burn marks on the curved bit around the outside, did you use a power sander? Maybe a bit of sandpaper and hand sand it to make it look a bit cleaner.

A lovely mod which I would love to be able to do either way . I just suck at modding, lol

10/10 you got my vote
Thanks man, yes there was some serious scorching on the wood from a faulty router bearing, the entire case was actually hand sanded as I don't own a power sander so I did as much as I could to get it looking good with just elbow grease. As for the rectangular holes, those too were cut by hand. I would love to invest in a rotary cutter with a guide/jig for next time though. For now I plan to use some wood filler to square things up.

They are long gone, all of the grills are made from much more widely spaced hexagonal A.C. Ryan Modder's Mesh, better airflow and less noise.

Both side panels make use of the original metal side panels as their means of attachment, the wood panels are attached to the inner steel ones by 12 screws each driven from the inside of the case. All of the panels are attached from the inside as to eliminate any visible screws from the outside.

Thanks, I plan to attempt sleeving a full PSU for my next project, I'll post details by the end of the month

It was a single piece of white acrylic that first had the hole for the fan cut, and was then molded using several phone books and a run of the mill heat gun to soften the acrylic allowing it to be formed to the shape below:
