P4 3.2Ghz Extreme Ed.?

Are they good overclockers? I am looking at one and just wanted to know if anyone has had any luck getting a good OC on one. I want something to hit 4 on water. and this 2.4 only gets me to 3.37 so please if you could help let me know....THANKS!

No, they are very poor overclocker's in fact... The Gallatin core isn't a good overclocker..they are based of of 1.3 tech, basically like a northwood, but not as good as an OCer...

I would go with a 3.4E prescott. There a much better OCing processor, and 4GHz is almost taken for granite with a decent setup.. they are around 270ish

The 3.4E's are hard to find for a good price. I would like not to spend over 200 but I am willing to break that if that mean 4+ G's....

If you're worried about price why are you looking at Extreme Eidtion Pentium 4s? The 660s are overclocking really well as well, and really anything on LGA775 overclocks better than its Socket 478 counterpart... that would be your best bet.

Oh, sorry, i though you had the buget of a 3.2GHz EE processor..(~500ish)
lol, well, this 3.2E will give you a fighting chance at 4GHz... with your mobo, i would expect 3.9GHz or around there.
