Abit nf7-s v2.0 problems?

well i was using my computer today and i went to burn a cd and it wasn't working. i looked at the device manager and my dvd-rom and cd-rw drivers were loaded but it was unable to detect them. so i figure i lost one of my IDE channels. so i took out the one cable and now i'm only using the other one with one hard drive and my cd-rw. and on top of all this i had a heck of a time tryin to get the computer to boot up after i swapped the cables around. it would get a little ways into booting and then it would just restart. then when i finally got it booted up my cd-rw still wasn't detected. i've checked the connections... so don't ask. i was wondering if it's my motherboard or what. someone point me in the right direction

Sounds to me that the cd-rw drive is going bad or is bad. I had a cd burner that went out and it caused weird problems, like it took a long time just to boot into windows and such. Disconnect that drive and see what happens.
