TF2 server help

Thread Starter
I just recently got my tf2 server up and running for me and my clan, but haven't been able to get the public to join. I have tried updating the server using hlds update tool, but still no success.
I also cannot find the server in the master server list in tf2, it shows up on the steam server list but not in tf2!

Anyone know how i can get my server to show up on TF2?
I have no passwords on the server or anything of the sort, only sourcemod installed.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Nothing you can do about that. Most servers aren't shown on any one persons screen, I'm not exactly sure how it works though.

I've only seen the overclock.net gungame server on my normal steam server list once, and I've been playing on it since before I joined this site.

People won't join it because chances are its empty and people set it to filter out the empty servers. Also what crazy said.

There are a few factors that go into what servers appear in someone's list. The more traffic you get, the better chance you have of it showing up. But yeah, there is no one thing you can do. Also, servers that people join and then immediately leave get flagged and kept out of the list too. Whatever you do, don't use bots. No one likes to join a server full of invisible bots.

I have a different problem. I am trying to make my desktop into a server that the public can join through the game coordinator. The problem is that only people in my home network can join the server. I'm pretty sure the problem is with 'port forwarding', which one of my friends described as "not worth the effort." It sure sounds intimidating. Portforward.com had a excellent explanation and easy instructions. But here is a picture of what happens when I follow there instructions:

What is going on? Can you help?

Nevermind; it's actually working now.
