Best PCI sound card for gaming?

Thread Starter
Title says it all. I have an open PCI slot on my P5GC MX/1333 motherboard and really want a sound card for my AD-700's for FPS games. (Unreal Tournament 3, COD4, etc)

I was really looking into the Auzentech X-Fi Forte, but they are PCI-e. :/

The few options you have is either the Creative Fatal1ty Pro, Elite Pro, or the Auzentech Prelude. You might also give a look at the Razer AC-1

Auzentech Prelude. It's a fantastic card and sounds better than my Creatives.

Great card for general use, but doesn't support EAX 5.0. If you're a gamer, 128 simultaneous sounds is a good thing

The Auzen X-Fi Prelude can still be had for $110 refurbished. Really nice card, and I also bought mine as a refurb with no problems so far.

The Auzentech Prelude if you don't mind spending the extra money for a very nice card. Or as a secondary option you can go for the ASUS Xonar DX. Both have amazing drivers. (Whereas IMO something like a Creative X-Fi may be lacking in that area)
