broken pin but still runnning

Today one of my pins broke for my cpu, its the SD#30 i was wondering if its ok to leave it as it is right now. the system seems to boot up fine and everything seems ok.

Um... that's a new one. lol. Run prime 95 and check for stability. If it runs for a few hours sounds like you're good to go.

Heck, i did this to my mom's northwood about a half-year ago...the stupid heatsink was like glued to the processor so i ripped both the processor and heatsink out.. (stock paste was old and sticky) I broke one of the corner pins, but the computer has been running great ever since

If you just broke off one of the power or ground pins it should be fine...but if you break off an FSB or HTT pin then youre kinda screwed...

Lol i nearly did that with my Northwood CPU but i repaired all the pins and none broke off so im all good lol.

yeah a grounding pin would basicly do nothing not sure about a broken power pin and stabiltiy of voltages

Well, if your native power line gets struck by lightning, and your rig is on and your CPU has a missing grounding pin, then the electrical surge may fry the CPU since the energy has no way of escaping through the grounding pin. Make sure your computer is plugged into a working surge protector!
