you only need rep to sell not buy. I've already bought two things going on three, but one guy hasn't left me feedback kinda annoyed.

Would you be willing to go to a different platform? I feel kinda uneasy you buying an outdated socket. You could build an inexpensive am3 platform that will do nicely. Not trying to be a hater, but with dual core go with AMD.

Yeah, we don't mind using AMD, I found out thats what hes got at the moment but it's as old as the P3, we were only going to go 775 because I have an unused P4

I was looking at this - http://www.overclock.net/main-compon...ga-ma780g.html (the mobo&ram) - but then we'd need to buy a CPU, GPU and PSU which would probably be over £200 would it not?

Thanks again,
Dan

I honestly dont think even that P4 will cut it, yes it will improve his framerates, but if you're looking to upgrade his rig, even on a shoestring budget, try to get a cheaper board from a reputable co. (Gigabyte, Asus, etc...) and try to get a budget Dual core.

My rig running wow, Dalaran on high pop servers runs in the teens at times with max settings at 1680x1050 in a window. A p4 sure as hell isn't going to be able to cut it. If the P4 is a stepping stone, then sure why the heck not, but id be pooling to get a dual or a quad as quick as I could.

You really need at least a dual core, its a very cpu intensive game, Ram is also big for loading into Dalaran etc...
