Been having massive instability issues as well as trying to overclock for real this time. Should be down for approx. another 7 days but I'll be back up by then, and at full force.

Hey Spookie! Glad to see you folding full time again.

Burn, I know how you feel with the stability problems. I had the e4500 stable at 3.2 folding under windows, switched to ubuntu, and it's not stable anymore. I've had it folding at 3.0 for a while, but now it's starting to get unstable again. I think the ram is degrading, I sure hope it's not the board or the processor. I'm gonna try switching out the crucial ballistix 1066 for some kingston hyperx 1066 and see what that does.

As soon as I can I'll put the windows hdd back in and try to sort out the stability issues. Another thing that is really hurting my production is the constant severe thunderstorms that have been coming through lately. I shut down all but my main rig during storms so I can have the maximum battery life from my ups, which with a lc'd e6600 and 3 hdds, is about 18 minutes, 7 with the e4500 on as well. I'm also trying to protect the many dollars in computer hardware I have here.

Guys, my folding rig has died. Came home and the light on the router was going crazy, and it was locked up. Reset it and now it won't boot, post or anything. I'm working on finding the problem as I have time, however this came at a time when I have very little time to spare. Hopefully I'll be back up and running in a few days.

I think a stick of RAM in my rig is bad, too. Won't boot with it in :\\

Ok, I swapped the ballistix for some gskill ddr2 800, and am now running at stock. I'm gonna let it fold to see if it's stable, and overclock again after I get a new set of ram.

I'm working on my oc right now. I found some settings in bios that were incorrect.

Edit: It's not just the ram, it'll run 2.75ghz ok, but it won't cold boot above stock. Boot, go into bios, save and restart and your fine, perfectly stable. Anyway, I'm leaving it at that, been tweaking ram timings on the gskil ddr2-800, running at 4-3-3-6 2t@800 mhz memtest stable atm, from stock 5-5-5-15 1t @800. I'll try 1t and see what that does after it folds a couple wu's ok.
