Zalman GPU cooler

Thread Starter
I just ordered a Zalman VF700 cooler, specifically a Zalman VF700-cu Silent VGA Cooler w/Ram Sinks. I have a BFG Nvidia 6800gt 256MB Video card I'm going to put it on. I am just wondering if this is still one of the best coolers out there for video cards? (Hopefully it is)

Yeah, I believe it is, other than Water Cooling.. btw, how much did you spend on that baby?

It was $36.88 plus tax, Canadian. This is the better model, the all copper one, so it was a few dollars more than the Aluminum/Copper model.

yeah it's still considered one of the best. however the VF900 was just unveiled and will probably be out within a few months.

Here's Some Info

"Zalman Tech Co. has introduced a new low profile heatpipe embedded copper GPU heatsink for ATI and nVidia videocards at CES this week. It is called the Zalman VF900. According to the Chinese language website icooler.net, the new Zalman VF900 VGA heatsink fan spins between 1350~2650RPM, and comes in black and translucent bladed versions (which we would assume are blue-LED illuminated). The GPU heatsink is completely copper, and uses two heatpipes which intersect the cooling fins along the outer curve."

And I have attachted Some Pics, It looks pretty sweet. I have a VF700AlCu and it works fine, but this one looks like it might be better...

that does look sweet! thanks man, I was thinking about getting a vf700... but I just may wait for the 900 to come out.

well I actually would have ordered one already if it would plug into the fan hearder on my 7800Gt so it could controll the fan... but it looks like the vf900 has a 3pin fan header so maybe they'll make a version that will allow the card to control the fan

Just so you know, the 700 and 900 both come with the Zalman FanMate. It lets you control the speeds of the fan so no need for one to plug directly into the card...

No, that's not correct. The 700 doesn't come with a fan controller. You simply have the choice of 2 voltages for "quiet" and "normal" modes.

all the same, i think I'd rather just have the card control the fan... that way it's dynamic and there's one less thing to clutter my case with
