Heh heh yeah indeed it does. You can install programs and applications wherever you want though, just create a Program Files (x86) and Program Files directory on your mechanical hard drive and change the drive letter from C: to D: (say) in the program installer. That's all you'd end up doing with this method or the other method anyway. The only difference is the appdata temporary folder which IMO you have ample space for on a 60Gb drive anyway.

As I say it's down to personal choice anyway so if you're set on this route good luck to you Sadly I can't help you specifically on that issue but I'm sure someone will come along and help in due course.

Bugger ! I only glanced at the link and thought it was specific to my docs etc. I will hold out a bit longer for some help with this(because I'm stubborn) but it's good to know there is hope if I give up hope.

There is a folder called default. This contans all the proper files for windows to creat a new user. if you delete or fail to do this, when you go to log in for the first time you will get no background or anything for that matter.

in users folder if you have show hidden files on you will see the default folder along with the other users folders on the OS

great way to setup a boot drive and move that "Users" folder hog off to another partition, and windows be happy about the whole thing

i just changed my temp folders to the HDD and none of my programs remember log in credentials nor does internet explorer. hopefully doing this will fix that problem.

in step 7 there is 2 Default folders, one is grayed out and visible because of showing hidden files, and the other has a lock icon on it and it says you do not have permission access is denied. i moved the one that was grayed out and left the one with the lock.

did i move the right ones?

Yes because all the default folder does is hold the info to create a profile.

secondly i really hope your doing this on a clean install. deal with you backups or whatevers going on after youre done modding the OS
